MebFit Senior/Boomer class – Fall session

I’m excited to be partnering with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina to bring two NEW free fitness classes to the community! Open to everyone; you do not have to be a Blue Cross member to attend. The classes will be held in the Blue Cross NC Raleigh Center at the Brier Creek Commons shopping center (8511 Brier Creek Pkwy Suite 107, Raleigh, NC 27617; located next to Brixx Pizza, across from the Brier Creek Movie Theater).
Chair Fit – Thursdays, 9:30-10:10 a.m. This gentle chair-based program includes strength work, exercises for joints/arthritis, light cardio, and stretching for flexibility and relaxation. Focuses on strengthening muscles and increasing range of movement to assist you in your daily life activities, and to help relieve aching joints and stiff muscles. Participants should bring a bottle of water, and a set of 1 lb. or 2 lb. dumbbells (optional). Please arrive early to check in and to sign a liability waiver.
Senior/Boomer Fitness – Thursdays, 10:30-11:15 a.m. A fun, full-body exercise class designed to increase muscle strength and improve range of movement for your daily life activities. Includes cardio dance, strength work, exercises to improve your balance and joints, and stretching for flexibility and relaxation. All movements are performed standing or seated in a chair; there is no getting down on the floor. Participants should bring a bottle of water, and a set of dumbbells (optional; 2 lbs. recommended for beginners). Please arrive early to check in and to sign a liability waiver.

Graham Walks is a self-motivating walking program designed to inspire you to stay active and reach an average of 8,000 steps per day. Fun fitness swag will be handed out to participants turning in their weekly Walking Logs on Wednesdays! Those who complete the challenge will be eligible for grand prize drawings at the end of the five weeks.
This program is FREE and open to all area residents; you don’t have to live or walk in Graham to participate. You can walk where and when it’s convenient for you. Free pedometers are available if you don’t have a fitness tracker.
Silver Sneakers class
You’ll leave feeling better than when you came in!
I lead Silver Sneakers group exercise classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at New Millennium Fitness in Mebane. My class is known for great music and fun dance moves that are easy to follow. I’ve created an excellent full body routine that includes cardio, strength, balance, and stretching. Gym membership or Silver Sneakers membership is required. All ages and abilities are welcome. (Class level: Beginner/Intermediate)
